Our Story
Wekify LLC emerged from a profound connection to the Bafuliiru community and a deep understanding of the challenges facing indigenous languages in the digital age. Our founder, driven by personal experience and a vision for preserving cultural heritage, recognized the urgent need to bridge the gap between traditional language preservation methods and modern technology.
The journey began with the Kifuliiru language, facing the real risk of digital extinction despite being actively spoken by over 400,000 people. This realization sparked the creation of Wekify, established with the mission to develop innovative digital solutions that would not only preserve languages but also make them thrive in the modern world.
As we worked with communities, we discovered that language preservation was just the beginning. We realized we could help communities build comprehensive digital ecosystems that preserve their heritage while modernizing their technological capabilities.
Our Location & Global Reach
Current Status
Wekify LLC is currently operating as a home-based company in Spokane, Washington, where we're developing our language preservation platform. While we don't have a physical office space yet, we're focused on building our digital infrastructure and community partnerships.
Global Reach
While our headquarters are in Spokane, our digital platform enables us to work with communities worldwide. We're currently focused on our partnership with the Bafuliiru community in Congo Kinshasa, and we look forward to expanding our reach to other communities in the future.
Future Office Plans
As our team grows and our projects expand, we plan to establish a physical office space in Spokane. This will provide a dedicated space for collaboration, community meetings, and language preservation activities.
