What It Is

Kifuliiru Lab is a specialized language preservation laboratory under Wekify LLC, dedicated to preserving and revitalizing the Kifuliiru language through computational methods and community engagement. The lab focuses on template-based content generation, using mathematical formulas and linguistic templates to systematically create educational materials for the Kifuliiru language. Our research methodology combines template-based computational generation with community-centered validation, ensuring all content is authentic, pedagogically sound, and culturally appropriate. The lab projects to generate over 141,000 educational books and accumulate 8GB of training data, all to be validated by the Bafuliiru community. We develop and maintain multiple digital platforms including Tabula Kifuliiru, Kifuliiru HQ mobile app, and kifuliiru.com, creating a comprehensive digital ecosystem. The lab website serves as a research hub, providing information about our mission, research focus, active projects, publications, and team. Our primary research question is whether template-based computational generation can produce authentic, pedagogically-sound educational content for the Kifuliiru language with minimal existing written materials. The lab works directly with the Bafuliiru community, combining systematic generation via mathematical formulas and linguistic templates with community-powered content creation through digital platforms, voice recording and audio preservation, and integrated web and mobile applications. All generated content undergoes multi-stage community review including native speaker verification and elder cultural validation, ensuring 100% community validation of all materials.
